Counter-Strike is a first-person shooter, developed first as a modification to the well known bestseller Half-Life by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess Cliffe back in 1999. Shortly after the modification's release, Valve hired the two developers and acquired ownership of Counter-Strike. The game takes place around the world, and players have a choice between two factions - the international police anti-terrorist squad and the combined forces of terrorist fighters.
